Gas inserts are designed to heat a room or a whole house using either Natural
Gas or Propane. These inserts are clean burning, easy to use and a very
efficient source of heat for your entire home.
Another great advantage for homes in the Northwest is that our gas inserts will
heat your home even when the power is out! All of our gas stoves
operate with a standing pilot. This means that all the switches and controls
that turn the insert on or off, up or down do not use house current, and
function very well during power outages.
When looking into buying a gas insert there are two things to look for of which we carry exclusively. All our gas inserts have completely welded boxes not a sheet metal box that would typically be sealed with a high temperature cement that will crack and leak, and Ceramic glass that will allow up to 80% more heat transfer than tempered glass typically found on gas inserts.
Every gas insert we sell is "furnace
rated" and operates at high efficiency levels ranging from 75% to 86%. As a
result, they will often heat an area as effectively as a wood insert. Heat is determined by several
variables such as BTU's, efficiency, and the materials used in the
manufacturing of the stove.
