What works during an outage?
On models equipped for battery backup, the batteries power the ignition and burner controls so the fireplace can continue providing heat. The blower and decorative lighting require household electricity and will not operate on the standard battery backup. Available remote functions vary by model.
Once the backup batteries are installed, use your normal operating instructions to turn on the fireplace. Refer to your owner’s manual for model-specific requirements.
If you smell gas, stop. Leave the building and call your gas supplier from outside. Do not attempt to operate the fireplace or use electrical switches.
